Our baby unit offers a colourful, stimulating ‘homely’ environment. The room is a large open plan sunny room with areas for activities exploration and getting messy. We also have a comfortable sleep room furnished with cot beds. All toys within the room are free access with additional developmental activities incorporated as part of your child’s day. The babies within the unit are provided with a range of fun activities. Cosy areas are reserved for stories, songs and quite time. Soft carpet, mirrors and wooden toys enhance tactile and visual stimulation. Continual effort is made to foster physical development as the babies go from crawling to walking. To aid this transition in development we offer a baby gym and soft play equipment.
We will endeavour to follow your child’s own routine as provided by you during the settling in sessions. We will advise you in any pattern of change that occurs.
The baby unit has its own kitchen area, where milk feeds will be prepared and its own self-contained nappy area. We will provide all nappies and formula milk for all babies within the unit.
We understand the importance of breast feeding during the early years. We welcome all breastfeeding mothers and have the amenities to store breast milk.
When your baby is ready for weaning we will work very closely with you regarding foods being introduced. We will use Makaton (simple sign language) to further stimulate early communication skills.
