For Children over 3 years old (until they start school full time) with a staff ratio of 1:8
Staff ratio within this room is 1:4 for children ages 2-3 years old and 1:8 for all children over 3 years old. Maximum occupancy for this room is 18 children.
The Big Bears room environment reflects and values the contributions made by our children. We focus greatly on independence and learning new skills to ease the transition of moving to ‘Big’ school. Our activities are planned and the learning outcomes recorded in more detail. Individual development assessment records are completed.
The activities provided are influenced by the Foundation Phase, they will be incorporated into the routine and your child will complete them as they play. The activities offered will promote development in all areas and will encourage each child to reach their full potential.
The children have access to the bathroom where there are nappy changing facilities and child sized toilets. Independence is promoted as much as possible.
By the time your child leaves Blueberry Bears to enter compulsory education they will be equipped to deal with the new and exciting challenges school will offer.
